5PM hurricane update
Home from work. Right now light wind and rain in Myrtle Beach. According to the radar, things might be about to get more serious. Just waiting for Amy to get home, then we’ll hunker down with an ample beer supply for the rest of the night.

It’s an interesting thing, being in the outer rain bands. When one’s overhead, it’s like you’re really IN the hurricane. Then it moves on and it’s just a calm, cloudy day. The next one will be here soon, though.

2PM hurricane update
The wind has intensified a little. The rain has intensified significantly. I’d kinda like to go home now. However someone in one of our inland offices, who is apparently oblivious that there’s a HURRICANE here, has just contacted me asking if I can create a layout for him this afternoon. If I don’t get the details of the job by 2:30, he’s going to be waiting until Monday.

I’m about 35 miles north of Myrtle Beach at the moment. The wind is picking up a little, with a couple gusts around 25mph. A light rain has started falling.
The Pacifier
This week we are in the process of finally getting William to stop using the pacifier. We should’ve done it months ago, and we have attempted it before, but eventually we’ve caved to his pleading.
At least he only gets to have it at night when he goes to bed. But he’s smart. He’ll say that he’s tired and that he needs the pacifier to make him feel better. But no...

His actual birthday is the 23rd, but who wants to have a party on a Tuesday? Despite the fact that I thought we had decided to never have an outdoor party ever again, the festivities were held in my mother-in-law’s backyard. It was so, so hot.
